Schedule Templates are the next step in building a schedule with Findd. They define which shift templates belong on selected days in a given time period. Be sure to check out the Shift Templates guide before diving into this one.

Schedule Templates make creating Schedule Planners easier by arranging spaces for employees on specific dates during their appropriate shifts. Once the outline is created, you will just have to fill in the blanks from then on.

Step-by-Step

  1. Navigate to the “Schedules tab and then open the “Schedule Templates” sub-tab

  2. Select “+” in the upper right-hand corner

  3. Enter a name for the shift template (required)

  4. Enter the "Period Days" on which this template will be built.
Note: Period Days will create a shell of x days in which I can build a template. Example: If you are creating a template that will apply to a weekend only, Enter 2 to represent Saturday and Sunday

  5. Click Save

Once the template has been created, you can begin to input Shift Templates:

  1. Select the dropdown arrow on the template’s far-right corner to open the template.

  2. Select “+” in the upper right-hand corner.

  3. Select a shift template
Note: if your Shift Template is at a hierarchy level above the one you're creating a Schedule Template for, you will need to toggle the "Override hierarchy permission" (more information on this in the above video)

  4. Choose which Period Days the selected Shift Template will apply to
Example: Continuing the Weekend example, if I have a Shift Template that will be needed for Saturday and Sunday, I will select both Day 1 and Day 2.

  5. Click Save, and repeat for any other Shift Templates that fit into this Schedule Template.

Great work! You have now built two levels of templates, and we're ready to start assigning specific dates for upcoming work weeks and employees to the Schedule Template. Use the Schedule Planners guide to walk you through this process.
