In Grandd Central, exceptions occur when an action is conducted that is not in line with the standards that your organization has set. For a brush-up on exceptions, you can learn about the Types of Exceptions.
This guide will go over how to use the exceptions tool found in the Timecards tab in Grandd Central.
Filtering Exceptions
1. Navigate to the Timecards Tab.
2. Click the drop-down arrow in the Exceptions section (see below).
3. You can filter by the type of exception by clicking on the exception type (see above). If no exceptions filters are selected, all exceptions will be shown.
4. Edits can be made (add punches, approve time cards, approve location exceptions, etc.). In the example below, I have the missing punch and the Supervisor Approval filters turned on. I can now add a missing punch and approve timecards:
Note: Missing punches must be added before timecards can be approved. Also, as you make changes, the exception will be removed from the exceptions list.
5. Once you have made changes, you can view those changes through the "Show Reviewed" settings found in the upper left-hand corner of the Exceptions section (see below). Once the page has been refreshed the Reviewed changes are reset.
Accepting, Rejecting, and Rejecting/Removing Biometric Exceptions
Accept:
Choosing "Accept" signifies that the biometric data (e.g., photo) associated with the exception is valid and should be associated with the employee.
Action: This action will potentially add the biometric photo to the employee's existing "Face Spaces" to help with future recognition, and the punch stays on their timecard.
Reject:
Selecting "Reject" indicates that the biometric data presented is not valid or should not be associated with the employee.
Action: The exception's status changes to "Rejected," but the original punch remains on the employee's timecard. Use this if the punch itself is okay, but the biometric match was wrong. This button is for administrator use when reviewing exceptions.
Reject/Remove:
The "Reject/Remove" option is a powerful tool for invalidating both the biometric data and the associated timecard punch.
Action: This action will not only mark the exception as "Rejected" but will also remove the corresponding punch from the employee's timecard.
Important Note: The ability to use "Reject/Remove" is dependent on your user permissions. Only users with the necessary "edit timecard" permissions within their assigned Role will be able to perform this action.
