These instructions will guide you through the process of setting up the face recognition to be able to clock in and out using the Findd app.

Findd Face Recognition Training

These instructions will guide you through the process of setting up the face recognition using your clock PIN so that you can begin clocking in and out using the Findd App.

Training with the Findd App

Follow these steps to complete the training for the face recognition:

1. Open the Findd App- Use your finger to tap on the Findd app icon

2. Enter your Clock PIN- Type your clock PIN (typically your employee ID) and tap the checkmark

3. Begin the Face Recognition Training- first-time users need to register their face with the app. Press the “LET’S GET STARTED” button to begin

4. Scan Your Face- The Findd app is will automatically capture several images of your face so it can learn how to recognize you. This will take approximately 60 seconds

- Place your face so that is centered in the camera view and slowly rotate and tilt your head up and down and side-to-side to register multiple angles of your face. Continue until the screen says you are finished and you see the “START PUNCHING” button

Face Recognition Best Practices

  • Lighting- Face toward the light so that your face is fully lit and visible to Avoid backlighting, bright lights behind you that cast your face in shadow
    ​

  • Face Angle- Look straight on at the device, don’t tilt your head to the side
    ​

  • Fill the Screen - Be close enough to fill the screen with your face, make sure your eyes, nose, and mouth are visible
    ​

  • Hats, Goggles, etc - When possible, remove hats, goggles, scarves, or anything that may obstruct your face or cast it in shadow

    • Eyeglasses are typically OK to leave on, particularly if you trained with them on

    • If your face isn’t found, try using the Take Photo button a few times to let the system learn your face with the glasses

  • Cannot Find Face - If the app says it cannot find your face, try rotating your face in a slow circle and moving slowly forward or backward a little at a time

    • When a green border appears, it has detected your face and is scanning for a match

    • If the match is not high enough to automatically punch you in, use the blue TAKE PHOTO button and the system will learn your face
