Adding a Prior Period Adjustment
1. Confirm Pay Period Closure
- Ensure that the time summary and expenses for the pay period are closed.
- Please note that locking a pay period is reversible, but closing a pay period is not. PPA is used in cases where the pay period is closed.
- Navigate to the affected employee’s timecard.
2. Enable Retro Modifications
- Since the pay period is locked/closed, edits cannot be made directly.
- Turn on the Allow Retro Modifications toggle to enable adjustments.
3. Add the Adjustment
- Enter the necessary adjustment (e.g., a forgotten punch).
- Verify that the pending differences appear correctly.
Exporting Prior Period Adjustments
1. Click “Export”
- Select the pay period to which the adjustment should be exported.
- Click Export to process the adjustment.
2. Verify the Timecard Update
- Check the timecard that the prior period adjustment was exported to, to confirm that the adjustment has been recorded.
- The adjustment should be labeled as a Prior Period Adjustment with the updated hours.
Reviewing Prior Period Adjustments in Payroll
- View Payroll Data - In the payroll view, adjustments will be listed separately from regular payroll and expenses.
- This helps differentiate standard payroll processing from adjustments made after the pay period closure.

- Exporting Prior Period Adjustments for Payroll Processing - Each pay period, prior period adjustments need to be exported separately.
- If adjustments need to be processed on a different timetable, you can export them individually.
- Select all pending PPAs, click Export, and generate the file.

- Tracking Export Status - A red notification bubble indicates pending exports.
- Once exported, the pending adjustments count will reset.
- Adjustments can be re-exported if necessary.

Please Note:
- PPA is a complex module and should be used sparingly. Please reach out to support@findd.io if you require further training on this module.
- PPA's function as expenses but are categorized distinctly.
- Exporting adjustments ensures they are properly accounted for in payroll processing.
- The system tracks whether an adjustment has been exported, preventing duplicate submissions.
